For several days since the beginning of the year, cinemas in India have been screening with great success a film starring the country\u2019s national pop star, the famous Prabhas<\/span>.<\/span><\/h4>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

So far, nothing strange, until between the dancing figures and the wonderful backgrounds that frame the film\u2019s central couple, the viewer discovers familiar landscapes of Rhodes.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

The Venetian castle, the alleys of the old town, Mandraki, the beaches of Lindos, as well as other famous corners and well-known sights of the Greek island.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

It all started when five months ago and at the end of the tourist season, the island was suddenly flooded with 100 exotic boys and girls, members of a film crew from India who had come to Rhodes for the filming needs of a small segment of an Indian film of the Bollywood industry. A romantic comedy with elements of thriller and fantasy.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

An entire mechanism was set up to support the project, with the production and services company, BLUE WAVE, as a key factor.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

A support team of 200 people, a fleet of 30 cars and two wooden boats for the needs of the shooting, functioned like a well-tuned machine that within 15 days brought the ambitious project to fruition.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

We spoke to Michalis Kaliakatsos, representative of Blue Wave, about this great challenge:<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u201cFortunately, we had the support and undivided help of both the municipal authority, the region, the Antiquities Ephorate, and above all the residents who for 15 days not only tolerated this onslaught but also seemed willing and enthusiastic to help in every way. The great challenge is to work with a people who are so far from our own perceptions. And certainly a very good lesson in what we can achieve when we work with professionalism and cooperation and without the blinders of different mentalities. A great motivation for us is also the extroversion that is served by such jobs, which highlight locations and monuments of Greece that, in combination with the infrastructure, highlight the country as a first-class destination for similar productions.”<\/span><\/i><\/p>\r\n
